Kristin, I have to be honest these types of shots don’t work for me. I think that is strictly personal preference and, while I am not sure, you will probably get some positive response from others. #1547889

Kristin, I love the color in this, but I have to agree with Michael. It is a personal preference style.

I do like the concept of this and the bit of tree trunk and details. These make the photo stand out nicely.

For this style of work, I think this photo fits very well. #10867680

Hey, I've lived in Alberta and I can vouch that it can be really windy there. . . #10867772

I love this shot, I always do some shots like this after I have done all the serious shooting my brain can take in.

I have given Jim some really good laughs when he has turned around seeing me doing a wave with the camera, turning circles, zooming in and out with my lens, I have my own war dance I do...LOL I like that you can still see the tree trunks. besides the wind was there a movement you did to get this Kristen. #10867873

Funny Jeff. As it is now, I am going to agree with Mike. The yellow is extremely bright on my monitor. Do you have any other shots? Just curious, because I LOVE aspens. Wish we could grow them here in Ohio. #10868045

I like abstracts and autumn colors and blurred movement, Kristin. Only fault I find with this image is the title. Never saw wind blow up and down. Sideways and at an angle but not up and down. :o) #10868051

Well, you've never been to Alberta, have you. . . . #10868061

I like this shot, but agree the yellow is a little too bright and I think a little more contrast would make it more interesting. I like the never-say-never feel the title brings to it. Sometimes, when the wind wins, I resort to panning and sometimes I get lucky. #10868451

I think the bright yellows are the prime appeal of this image. I can totally see this picture hanging as an abstract in a living room or corporate office space to brighten up the room. I've had people ask me specifically for bright yellow [sunflower] pictures for just that purpose. However, I haven't pulled it up on my good monitor, so the others may be seeing something I'm not.

Clearly, I like this abstract. I think you've got some good diagonals in it and an anchor point. You have some natural vignetting along the top, and some that could be strenghened down towards the bottom left corner. I would also be interested to see what a stroke border might do for this. That's something Jeff likes to do...he might have a comment on that suggestion. It may also be a little unbalanced with the expanse of darker tones on the right weighting it down. You might check out a more of a 4x5 crop ratio, or brighten the little horizontal band of yellow near the bottom right.

When I first saw this, my conclusion was that you got it from vertical panning, not actually from wind. But I really don't care. In my opinion, the best imagery is not literal. #10868747

I like the bright colors in this one... It gets really windy here and some days that is all you can do! #10869337

Kristin, like Dale, the title confused me. But then, sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees!
I too would be interested to see Stephen's suggestions tried. #10869422

Kristin, I like this image and agree that the strong yellows is what does it for me. Of course, being from Colorado, I am an aspen-person. So I may be biased. It is fun to do this on occasion. I took a few of them myself on this last trip to Ouray and Crested Butte. #10873671
