This is really nice, Kristin. The only issue I have is the light on the main subject's back seems a little hot. Perhaps it can be brought down just a bit with a highlights adjustment? Otherwise, looks really good. I love the second guy hanging out in the back. #1538968

It like this Kristin. The little guys didn't seem to mind getting their photo taken. I like the bokeh in the background. It makes it in focus area stand out very nice. Your photo had such nice depth. #10795742

Nicely done, and I think the subtle rework to bring down the highlights is just enough. I know borders are a personal preference, but I think (seeing the 2nd version without a border) the first version's border was maybe too wide, in hindsight.
If you have access to shoot here again, and the birds are commonly there, I'd love to see a composition from slightly further left - so more of that pretty reflected blue ended up behind the standing birds?
I really like the 'roughness' of the weathered wood posts and wire. #10795763

Your edit looks great! I really like the tones in this picture, they all complement the bird. #10796248

Kristin, I think this looks great. I love the background, but I agree that a subtle rework to bring down the highlights (for me in the water to the right) would be nice. #10796865

I do like this too! Question for you all-the out of focus bird looks strange to me and I can't put my finger on it-is this some weird BP compression going on or something? Very minor point, but I am wondering if this appears this way on anyone else's monitor.

I do like these birds though! #10796910
