Grips and Grins
Uploaded: May 25, 2013

When I get a news assignment to cover, I'm often asked to capture "grips and grins."
---
This was VP Biden during a political rally in Philadelphia last summer. After delivering his speech, Secret Servicemen accompanied him to the crowd-control rope line, where admirers clamored to shake his hand and take photos of him.
---
In many cases, people were straining to reach and touch the Vice President. In those cases, the Secret Service person would take the camera, shoot a couple of pics, and hand the camera back.

Love that precise moment you got here, Michelle. It tells the story of the crush of people after their prize pic and chance to meet. See this all the time in crowds now, with cameras and cell phones raised on high. Well, mine would have to be "high" or I couldn't get it above the crowd. All this must drive the Secret Service folks nuts. #1529589Monnie Ryan May 25, 2013
Terrific capture of the moment, Michelle! Politics aside, this is a guy I've always thought would be fun and interesting to sit and have a beer with! #10706223Marijana Fajgl May 25, 2013
