Hi Patricia,That is stunning my friend.Winner im books.Only know of a few growing here in the city!!!! #10688228Patricia A. Casey May 10, 2013
I'm so fortunate to have two plants of this type in the garden...one has this flower coloration....the other has a magenta/purple/pink cast to it on the outer petals.....Thanks again for viewing and commenting! #10688452Val Feldman May 12, 2013
There's something so very poignant about a beautiful flower that lasts such a very short while - you want to hold onto it and visually inhale it's beauty as long as you can...You are so right in that capturing it via your photography allows the pleasure to outlast the short reality. This is gorgeous, Patricia - excellent work (both horticulturally and photographically!) :) :) #10690996Patricia A. Casey May 12, 2013
Thank you again, Val...yes I would love to know a what to preserve these for a little while.....in their actually form...and their fragrance is amazing....Thanks for your very kind words.... #10691000Joannie Bertucci May 16, 2013

Incredible lighting on this totally awesome image, Patricia! :-) k #10702229Patricia A. Casey May 22, 2013
Thank you so much Kitty.....early morning before these beauties wilt in the sun....sometimes I use a screen to diffuse the light coming on to the flower...and place a black backdrop to isolate the plant from the rocky background.....have a great day and thank you for viewing.....=^..^= #10702711Thomas E. Your cacti images are quite beautiful! #10813411Patricia A. Casey August 19, 2013
They do a very nice job of posing for me LOL....they are some of the most magnificent flowers I've ever had the pleasure to photograph...hard to believe something so soft and fragile comes from the spiny cactus plants.... #10813518Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
