Oh Sister! This is GOOD! I also have never seen a Yew Tree. I love that beautiful twisted trunk!

I was sitting here looking at your photo just thinking it over and enjoying it and it occurred to me that someone likely planted that tree (or it was a seed in the wind) very very long ago. Perhaps hundreds of years ago. Who would have ever thought back then it would grow to be so massive?

We see such an old building and such an old tree and I wonder which came first. It reminds me of the new movie out about Jack and the Bean Stalk. It's a great film and this is a great image!

Thanks so much, Nancy and SSSLala.

I don't know what came first, Sister. But the tree has totally outgrown the friary :) #10625615

This is one of those fascinating combinations of a very old man-made structure with a gorgeous Nature-formed object ~ whose age totally overwhelms that of the building! (See how positive I am about which was the chicken, and which was the egg? ;-)
Beautiful capture and composition, Kiki. Loe the light, the curves, and the textures.
