It's a damn shame! The worst coyote problem in Oregon or anywhere is the two legged "coyote". A simple investment in a herding & protection canine, solves any poaching problems and allows these noble animals to co-exist with the "ranchers" that have taken over and destroyed the habitat of nearly every single large mammal on the planet! This is an incredibly sad photo, that vividly shows how terribly inept man really is at controlling his environment. #42934

Such a sad sight. Yet another example of mans inability to takle encroachment of wildlife in any other way exept this extreme manor. I could hope that the person responsable for this cruel act ends up in one of his own traps some day!! I'm not familiar with the Coyote problem over there, but we have a similar problem with fox hunting here in the UK. I can only hope that soon man will learn to live in harmony with animals all over the world. Thanks for making us aware of this Piper, lets hope it does some good!! #129244

Thanks guys. What's done is done. I shot this for stock purposes and with the hope of making money off it. I hope that doesn't make me a bad person. I do feel for the coyote. I don't see the rationale behind hanging it on a post for all to see. Is this supposed to be an example to the other coyotes? Here's what will happen to you if you keep coming 'round here. It's ridiculous and funny at the same time that whoever did this thinks his actions will deter the other coyotes.

That said, I do understand the farmers and ranchers' point of view, even if I don't agree with their way of dealing with it. My grandparents raised beef cattle when I was young. I understand the way things work on a farm. I've known my grandfather to kill his own dog to keep it from suffering. I also watched the tears fall after he did what had to be done. It's not that they don't have compassion for animals. They just have a different way of looking at it. Like I said, I don't agree with what was done to this animal, but I would rather help the farmer who's trying to make a living than give one red cent to PETA. They go too far.

Anyway, I thought this image came out nice, regardless of the political or social implications. Thanks for noticing and commenting. #129289
