Description

1/250s @ f/13, ISO 1250, Nikkor 500mm f/4.0 @ 750mm.
Taken at the Celery Bog 1/26/13 ~ 6:20 p.m. when almost everything was frozen over except...there was one small pool of water and that's where most of the geese congregated. Alas, the rains and a heat wave came the next day and all the snow is gone :~(

Lovely winter capture Rona, about the same weather here, very mild for next two days, then back to cold! #10543604

Beautiful composition and lighting, Rona! There's nary a smidge of snow here now, either. #10543861

Wonderful capture. I have come to the conclusion that the mob melts the ice with their body heat. What do you think?

I have seen this same scene on our town's "lake." Fascinating. #10543944

The blue-white of the snow sure successfully depicts visually how cold it was at the "One and Only Amazing Celery Bog"! :) Wonderful low light capture, Rona - beautiful winter colors with the low light reflecting off the snow and the geese themselves. The Bog seems good in any season - hope you had enough rain/snow this year to replenish it for the spring! #10544501

You can have all the Canada geese! The Celery Bog, however, I could use. It sure has a lot of photo ops in all seasons, it seems. #10544890

I imagine all of the beautiful ice is gone from the trees at "my" Falls too, Rona. I'm sure you're happy to have taken some pics while the ice and snow were still abundant. This is a beautiful capture! Maybe it will freeze over again before winter is over. #10545024
