This is my attempt at an action shot...Bonnie C. Lackey January 06, 2013
Lots of energy! Nice job! #10502756Teresa H. Hunt January 06, 2013
Great action shot Brandi :)I can't tell if the face is soft or if my eyes are to tired. I was also thinking you might want to trim a bit off the top to give the illusion of jumping higher . . . but I'm not sure if that'd work. :) #10502865

I've done that same thing many times Brandi. Glad you mentioned it because that explains the softness and DOF.But in this case the action and expression are so good, that the problem becomes secondary and not a deal killer. It's a beautiful image of a very vivacious girl that is a keeper all the way.
Thanks for getting this month's challenge rolling. By the way, I think Teresa's suggestion has some merit and is worth tying to see if you like it. If you do, don't loose more than 1/2 the area above her head. #10502897

Forgot to mention that you can improve that softness a great deal by applying a high pass filter, set at about 1.5 and an overlay blend. #10502899Brandi K. Mills January 07, 2013
I hope I don't sound too dumb, but Dale I'm not sure what you're talking about with the high pass filter and overlay blend. Again, it may be something I can't do in lightroom...Beth Spencer January 07, 2013
Congratulations on the EP! If you are using LR you can sharpen it there. If you increase the detail and then if you hold down your alt key while sliding the masking it will sharpen the edges and everything you see turning black is not sharpened and masked. I hope that makes sense it not let me know. #10504001Jeff E Jensen January 07, 2013
Yup, the issues aren't an issue, great shot!Nope, high pass and overlay can't be done in Lightroom. #10504110

I think, Dale has hit the nail on the head with this one. A tad soft but the stop action certainly makes up for that. Very well done image, Brandi. #10504407Rita K. Connell January 08, 2013

Great concept and execution Brandi, I think Dale's suggestions and a slightly tighter crop would both be improvements.. #10511656Peter W. Marks January 15, 2013
