There sure are lots of interesting things strewn across those salt flats, Jeff.

You captured the light really well here. #1492972

I agree. Love the light and love the fact that you did not line up the two pipes. Much more interesting comp this way. #10374344

With light changing so quickly at times like this you did a fantastic job of composing and exposing! :~) While I too am drawn into the swirls I also find myself gazing into the sky to explore all the cloud detail. #10374781

So much to keep my attention in this simply beatiful picture! The shapes, the clouds, the shadows, the lights... Very pretty! #10375054

Another beauty Jeff. The light is indeed fantastic. Everything works here and does it well.

I am curious is this before or after the star shot and what happened to the clouds. Must be nice to have them for this shot and then go away so you could get that clear night shot. #10375350

Jeff --I think we will be seeing a lot more of this one. Beautifully seen and captured. Simple in design but very powerful as well. #10375493

Thanks, everyone! The light that morning was absolutely amazing.

Mike - We got lucky with the clouds. When we got to the area at about 5:30 pm, it was chilly, overcast, and a tiny bit of rain. As the sun was going down, it started to break up a bit, but not too much. Sunset was decent, but nothing like sunrise. By about 11 pm, the clouds had almost completely gone and the wind had died down to almost nothing. The star shot was taken at about midnight. It was nice enough out that I slept out under the stars. I woke up at about 2 to check on my gear that was running for star trails and it was still clear, but about 40°. By six when I got up for sunrise, the clouds had built up nicely. It couldn't have been more ideal. Here's a shot taken Friday evening. #10375790

Another great shot from your trip to the sun tunnels, but I was sooooo disappointed to see the first one of the Milky Way had been taken down. I had my comment ready on a word document (just to make sure I spelled things correctly this time!)and when I came back today to comment and show that awesome photo to my husband it was gone...so please, please would you mind posting it in this thread so I can show my husband (because we went through your gallery online and it wasn't there either). It was so amazing! #10378101
