Taken at the Japanese Garden, Portland, OR; this tree has been called "the most photographed tree". There is frequently a line of 5 or more photographers waiting to shoot the Japanese maple in the fall as it turns from green to gold and finally to red.

I love this tree! Had the great pleasure to see it when the American Conifer Society's Annual Meeting was in the Portland area...it's iconic.
