Description

This is the site of the original Banff Springs Hotel before a fire. It was preserved and now the hotel is built around this original area. Originally the architect had faced the hotel in the wrong direction so that the help had the best view. Van Horne demanded he rotate the entire plans 180 degree as it now stand and the magnificent view are seen by the guests. They hold large banquets and parties in this room regularly.
