Triple Bow
Uploaded: September 16, 2012
Patricia Lake Jasper Alberta Canada. I was shooting hand held until my husband came with the truck and my tripod! Could not believe my eyes...a triple bow...look in the center of the two arcing to the left...there's a very small bow arcing right! Have never seen this phenomenon! By the time I set up the tripod the triple had gone away but was able to get the full double bow (see previous pix in series)

Thank you Kenneth. Yes I was lucky...another one of those "right place, right time" shots. It was changing fast.... #10325234Tammy Espino September 16, 2012

Gorgeous colors, capture and reflection! #10325905Patricia A. Casey September 17, 2012
Thank you so much Tammy, Neal, Terry and Mariann! I have never seen this either Terry! It was amazing...I'm sure there is a scientific explanation as to why that happened....I also noticed while processing this shot from RAW to JPEG that the colors in the double bow are reverse of the "major" bow so I researched that in Wikipedia and google...fascinating! #10326467Dee Langevin September 18, 2012
Awesome capture Patricia!! The third rainbow seems even stronger in the reflection. I've never heard of such a thing, no less witnessed it. This is a real gem!! #10328224Patricia A. Casey September 18, 2012
This is the one place we did get rained on...LOL....Roger got the umbrella from the truck so I could finish doing my thing here....then we moved around this lake over to Pyramid Lake which is on the other side of the trees in the background....I know....Roger & I were both amazed at this one.....truly a rarity (I think) ((at least for us)) #10328245Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
