Cutty Sark IV [Rule of Thirds in Photography]
Uploaded: September 10, 2012 23:01:05
The Cutty Sark is a museum ship in Greenwich London, displayed on a beautiful glass structures and available to teach and educate the public of the tea trade during the age of sale.
Cutty Sark was one of the fastest clippers, built in 1869, right before the introduction of steam propulsion.
The opening of the Suez Canal shortened the route to China, where she was used to import tea to England.
She then turned to the import of wool from Australia.
The ship's figurehead shows Cutty-sark, the nickname of the witch Nannie Dee who chases Tam O'Shanter, snatching his horse's tail before he escapes by crossing water.

Thank you all for the nice words. The Cutty Sark is an amazing vessel. She shines on her own. I am so glad I agreed to tag along with my husband who nerdly hangs out with historians and other people who run museum ships. Of course, I was sent out to roam around on my own when he was attending meetings. Luckily, I had the camera. #10318428Nina Shields September 11, 2012

Another super spectacular capture of this magnificent vessel, Rony! Fabulous POV - it really emphasizes all the angles and lines as well as the gorgeous vivid golds and blues. As always the detail and clarity are excellent. This deserves all the accolades it is going to receive. On to more gold! #10319813Phyllis H. Burchett September 18, 2012
