Skógafoss

Uploaded: August 30, 2012 03:56:03

Description

The massive wall of water that is Skógafoss in southern Iceland. The water falls about 200 feet with a powerful roar, creating a huge bank of mist.
Apparently during full flood, the wind created by the falls is strong enough to keep you from getting within 50 feet of the falls.

Thank you all very much! You can barely drive a mile without coming across another waterfall in Iceland; they're all so different, from monster falls like this one, to thin trickles. #10300992

Thank you both! It was such an impressive falls (or "foss", as they are called in Iceland.) I wish we'd had time to walk up as close as the guy in the photo, but we were on a deadline ;) #10303073
