Rust Bug
Uploaded: February 29, 2012
iso 100, 100mm (Canon 100L 2.8 macro), f/2.8 (av priority), 1/80 sec, +.3 ev comp, timer/tripod, pse10....Wandering the yard this morning I saw this lawn ornament in a boring place...stuck it in a pot of dirt and set the pot on the garbage can (I'm starting to consider that can as part of my photo gear :-) ). But the background was boring so I grabbed a large piece of orange construction paper.
For the photogroup101's "rust" theme day.
Happy Theme Day

Very fun and bright photo!! See, doesn't that orange remind you of the sun? NOT snow, lol....Joy Rector February 29, 2012

Orange construction paper? I was thinking this was a gradient background of some kind. It turned out neat - very creative. #10014299Bob Cournoyer February 29, 2012
Thanks all...Terry....other than basic levels and such, I'm post processing challenged.. :-) #10014303

Like a bug flying into the sun... the simple lines and monochromatic feels makes this a wonderful graphic image! #10014655Patti Coblentz February 29, 2012
Looks like a gradient was used, anyway. Love the bg color and clean lines of the rusted bug, Bob! HTD! #10014709Julianne Bradford February 29, 2012

Excellent find and terrific set-up, Bob. I like the off-center composition. This is one of my favorites in the challenge. #10015440Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
