Phoenix Waking Up

Uploaded: December 10, 2011

Description

I drove up Camelback Mountain this morning to try at photograph the eclipse which unfortunately just fizzled. So driving back down to the main road, I looked south at some unnamed small peaks, and this backlit scene unfolded before me. I pulled over and shot right from inside my car. I noticed afterwards when on my monitor that there were some birds have a morning formation flight! So this made up for the fizzled eclipse.

Canon 70-200mm/f2.8, handheld single shot, no filters. Standard post-production in Photoshop CS5.

Exif: F Number: 6.3, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/125 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 320, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 185.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark II

Another wonderful landscape from you :)
I have some foggy pics of the eclipse, but we only saw it well a couple times from the car when there was no place to pull over. #9859926
