A 180-degree panorama from the center of the nave crossing at Washington National Cathedral, stitched from 10 three-exposure HDR's.
It was a wonderful day to finally be back inside giving tours again in the newly-reopened cathedral; abundant strong, clear fall sunlight.
The black netting below the ceiling remains as a precaution should any more bits of mortar (loosened by the quake) fall out of place.

This is a jewel, Chris. I just wish BP allowed larger uploads so I could examine all the rich detail. Well conceived and beautifully done. Welcome home :) #1424489R. J. Laudenbacher November 20, 2011

What a stunning panoramic view of the beautiful Cathedral, Chris! I'm glad it's open again, and that you are back in your familiar role as docent. #9824747Chris Budny November 22, 2011

WOW!!! I had never imagined the vastness inside this amazing Cathedral!!! You have totally outdone yourself with this one Chris!!! This is pure perfection!! #9838430Chris Budny November 30, 2011
Thank you very much, Renee! It is an 83,000sf building, 510 feet long from end to end; using the wide-angle lens on this, the nave aisle (right in the center of the pano) looks even longer; it is probably about 300 feet from where I stood, to that distant rose window. #9838660Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
