AWESOME shot! How large can you have your images printed? I would love this hanging on my wall in my bedroom! How do you achieve the IR effect? With a filter on your camera or in the lab? (Sorry I'm not too smart on this stuff) #106521

Murry Grigsby May 27, 2019 0

Would be a great shot in color, B&W or IR as you've shown. Very nice work, Connie. #106571

WOW... thanks for the nice response. I'm amazed!! America... this is done with a Hoya 72 IR filter on camera. I shoot in color(which comes out pink) and then convert to black and white. I won't say it's easy because it is hard to get the correct exposure (especially with the G2) without blowing out the whites. Some cameras are more sensitive to IR... such as the Sony 707.. Olympus E10... etc. My camera is about mid range although I think the G1 does better because they put an IR blocker in the G2. Thanks for the nice response. If I can help in any way just give me an email. #106799

Awesome image, Connie. I also shoot with G2 many times. Do you set 'superfine' on the compression level on these shots? #110301

Leanne M.E. Boyd May 27, 2019 0

Connie, would that filter work on a Canon SLR? #110356

Connie...

I love this photo... want to thank you for explaining how you got this shot...I also have the G2 and the Hoya filter...I have taken photos at differant settings knowing about the G2 and IR blocker, I deleted my pink photos thinking I just could not get the correct exposure to get my filter to work...But reading on I found you chg your photos to blk and white !!!!!!!! Wow why didn't I try this ??? I am back on the IR photo taken mode thank you for the tip, any more info on the G2 and Hoya filter would be great, and thank you again I really wanted this to work and now I know what to do :) .....
PS is it best to use the filter on a bright sunny day ???

Stunning Connie! It's all been said before... I'm just arriving late as I wandered in to your gallery. You've sparked an interest for me in IR now that I'll have to explore. If I were the "photo judge" I'd have made this one Grand Prize! : ) #255627

This is STUNNING! One of the best IR photos i´ve seen. The B&W contrast is strong and I LOVE it. Also the view and perspective of this photo. I have to try this.
