Lesson 3 - graphic b

Uploaded: September 23, 2011

Description

: Toes in the Water
An attempted surrealistic treatment, I modified significantly using levels and sharpening.
To self-critique using Jim’s five elements from the lesson plan:
1. Beautiful shape – so-so, although the woman appears attractive.
2. Simple design – moderately so; two strong horizontals, a strong vertical; a strong diagonal.
3. Uncluttered backgrounds – very much so.
4. Clean lines – Yes, but at my first glance, I thought the toes should’ve been above the horizon; then quickly realized, this adds an element of imagination. So I didn’t lower the water line in Adobe.
5. Lighting – heavy contrast – on purpose. I think that works here.

Exif: F Number: 10, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/500 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 200, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 135.00 mm, Model: NIKON D90
