Description

Moraine Lake in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada, is so-named because of the huge heaps of moraine left by ancient glaciers. This photograph was taken from the top of a several hundred feet high moraine heap that provides a breathtaking view. Moraine Lake is about a 15 minute drive from the town of Lake Louise near the center of the park. [Multiple exposures merged in HDR process using Photomatix Pro with additional post processing using Photoshop CS5.]
