IN MEMORY OF BO

Uploaded: July 20, 2011

Description

Born 29th June 1994
Died the 18th July 2011
We never thought this day would come but it did!
17 years, such a long time to see Bo grow old, weary and tired so we let him go.
Bo was 15 when Graham took this photo, still a handsome looking dog.

I added the background of a photo I took of our favourite walks when he was young.

Godspeed Mr. BoJangles

Bo's theme song. Just like the music he jumped across the room,

he made us smile as he was such a character!

I'm sorry you had to let him go, I have empathy for you. At least you have had 17 years of wonderful memories to look back upon. Seventeen years is about the equivalent of 119 in dog to person years. He was old and must have had a clean environment in which to live and flourish.

Of all my beloved dogs, the oldest died at 13, and the last, Becca, died at 10. Every passing is painful, so I have empathy for your sorrow. I still carry Becca in my heart and believe that her spirit still answers me when I call to her in my sleep. You may find the same with Bo.

This is a wonderful tribute that you have made for Bo. Remember the wonderful memories you made together. and continue to carry him with you wherever you go. He was a handsome dog.

My condolences to you both.

Have had many tears here as I made a dedication for Mr. Bo on my gallery tonight. If you are up to it, it is there for you to come see.

I know it hurts so much, big sister. Their is no more pure and deep love like the love of parents for their children or love for our pets.

Our pets loved us, too, with no conditions, and this is the most we can ask for! They rest was always such a fun and delightful bonus to know them and to be their family.

I know you miss your Bo like we miss our Lucky Boy. It was the hardest thing to make the decision to take Lucky's last breath away...but we just have to sometimes when they are old and suffering. It doesn't feel good at all for us but for them...well...I have prayed many times that there really is a Rainbow Bridge where they live again and wait for us with twinkling eyes.

I love you and I am crying with you.

This is so sad, Pat and Graham.
I'm crying with you.

And I thought of this song by Melanie Safka:

And the saddest song under the sun above
is to say goodbye to the ones you loved

All the things that I have known
became my life, my very own

But before you know you say goodbye
ooh good time goodbye, it's time to cry

But I will not weep nor make a scene
just say thank you life for having been

And the hardest thing under the sun above
it's to say goodbye to the ones you love

No, I will not weep nor make a scene
I'm gonna say oh thank you life for having been

And the loudest cry under the sun above
is the silent goodbye from the ones you love #9546488

Below, is a favorite poem for so many of us.... am so sorry for your loss! Just remember all of the happy moments with him during his life, and it will fill your heart and help you mend...Love to you two!

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

When I moved to Hawaii, I had to give up my dog and it was one of the hardest things I had to do! I can only imagine how hard it would be to actually lose a beloved pet ... one that you've had for such a long time! He wasn't a pet though, he was family! I know that because I have a cat now and he is everything a family member would be to us.

I pray that Bo has gone to the Rainbow Bridge and is waiting there for you. May your thoughts and wonderful memories of him bring you peace and comfort!

I love how everyone at BP comes together when tragedy strikes, to offer you their love and support! You'll never find a better group of people!

Bo was definitely a handsome dog and I'm sure he was a great companion! I love this image of him with that gorgeous scene in the background! I would have this one framed, Pat! It's a winner! #9546856

Dear All

Tis a month gone, seems so much longer you know when Bo died.

Many times I came up here to reply but I just couldn't, too painful to think.

Bo's time had come, it had come and hurt so much to let him go. Graham and I sobbed when we took him to the vet one last time knowing we would never see him again.

Thank you for your best wishes my friends.
