So nice to see you entering images again Jodi, and a fun one it is. Love the diagonal comp and the dilemma of who is waiting for who?I have a couple suggestions, the first being the line coming out of the toys head. The easiest way to "fix" this would be to simply clone the grout where it crosses the vertical line. Then burn the remaining grout to match the rest.
I'd also suggest adjusting both the shadows and the highlights about 10% but not at the same time. Do one, the shadows, stamp the image and then do the other. Finally add a bit of sharpening to the entire image except the gravel.
this is cute and I like it very much. #1392255

this a very cute image jodie. I agree with the adjustments that dale suggested. I notice the pipe coming out of the toys head right away. looking forward to seeing the edit #9524397Debbie E. Payne July 12, 2011
I agree with Rita and Dale. The narrow pipe needs to go. There is still plenty of good lines left in the nicely done image without it. It is good to have you back, Jodi. #9525262Michael Kelly July 12, 2011
The suggestions sound good to make this fun shot even better. I like it and the title fits perfectly with the shot. #9525564Anthony L. Mancuso July 12, 2011
It is a cute shot Jodi and makes me wonder who is waiting and what are they waiting for? WLTSDS #9525904Jeff E Jensen July 13, 2011
Yup, WLTSDS. I really like your POV and composition. #9526887Jodi M. Walsh July 13, 2011
so here are my changes, as Dale suggested.i cloned out the gap in the bricks and tried to make the adjustments to the lighting. i'm not very good doing those adjustments in PSE.
Dale, let me know if this is closer to what you were talking about.
i ended up loving this session and have gotten so many great images. and while mom was not happiest with the little guy bringing his penguin, I know she's enjoyed that I was able to use them in these :-) #9527303

You did a fabulous job and it looks so much better without that distraction. Super edit Jodi and a delightful shot. #9527448Rita K. Connell July 13, 2011
I second that one on the super edit looks really great #9527687Susan M. Reynolds July 13, 2011
Your edit is super along with the POV...I always love diagonals for some reason and particularly like the way you did not include the top of the child...gives more of the "wonder" element to the photo...Nicely done! #9527990Michael Kelly July 13, 2011
Great edit - looks totally natural. #9528029Jeff E Jensen July 13, 2011
Yup, looks great! #9528212Beth Spencer July 14, 2011
Your edit is awesome! This is a great picture, love the title. It is original and there is a good story there! #9530739Jodi M. Walsh July 14, 2011
thanks guys. mom is a scrapbooker and i'm starting to learn that it inspires me when i'm working on their pictures. I think about how she might be able to use the pics. haven't had a chance yet to hear what she thinks about these. #9530887Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
