This is a gaggle of Canadian Geese, or Honkers, as we Alaskans call them. The domestic goose in the center is fondly named Gertrude, by me. She adopts a group of baby goslings every year and plays grandma to them. The parents don't seem to mind at all. But she will aggressively run off any other critter she thinks gets too close to "her" babies. Hey I know grandmas are protective of their kiddos. I am myself. Don't mess with this grandmas baby. Ha.
