Where's Mom?

Uploaded: June 20, 2011

Description

Here is the little tyke trying to make itself invisible while I shot this pic. I don't know where Mom got off to. She left him in the back yard all night and has not come back yet. Hope she returns!

Oh, she'll be back, you can count on it. Momma deer leave their babies for extended periods of time while they forage but they always remember where they left the little one. This is just a marvelous and lucky capture, Ruth...be careful - Momma's can get riled pretty easily if they think baby is being threatened! #9468808

So glad she did! It isn't often a Mom deer "misplaces" her baby - but it does happen - very glad it didn't this time. And happy you got the wonderful captures you did while Mom was out doing whatever Mom deer do...not very responsible tho, huh? :) #9471378

Ohhhhhh...this is so precious, Ruth! We have so many deer where I live, and I always get concerned when I just see the baby and no mother. Fortunately, for the most part, she's never too far away. Beautiful image! Deb #9637708
