Technique 7 – Elective: Mirror Image with Add-On

Uploaded: April 16, 2011 15:57:55

Description

Description:
I took the photo of this Escher original in the Escher Museum in The Hague, Netherlands several years ago. In Jim’s class, I learned how to duplicate it as a mirror image and then to add an element to make the whole purposely asymmetrical and graphically more interesting.

Camera – Panasonic DMC-TZ1; EFL – 5.2mm; handheld; speed - 1/8 sec; aperture - f/2.8; ISO - 100; AUTO mode; pattern metering; WB – AUTO; lighting – indoors - ambient; JPG.

Course: Photoshop: Advanced Creative Techniques - Jim Zuckerman

Original submission description -
Escher – add to flip (variation 1):
Is the flying fish going to gobble that moon or the bird? In an Escher, anything is possible!

Original submission instructor critique:
I like the Escher mirror a lot. What a cool design. I like how one half of the image has the fish but the other side does not. Very clever, and very effective.

This was a “Photo of the Week”
