Uploaded: April 07, 2011
1.3 seconds, f/25, iso 100, 25 mm. In Photoshop, I combined the original version with a Gausian Blur version to soften the image a bit. Also, I removed a small sign.

Thanks for the great explanation plus the EXIF data - good learning.Btw, that tree is only a little bit bigger than the one my late father planted a couple of decades ago in our old home's garden. That's one special kind of tree in more ways than one! #9360164

Wonderful capture of this very interesting tree, Josh! The tree is very unique with great shape and color, but your digital processing really sends it over the top. Terrific work! Congrats on being featured in DD! #9360361Josh A. Friedman April 20, 2011
Kathy & Rona - Thanks very much for looking & for the kind thoughts & feedback. #9360551Josh A. Friedman April 22, 2011
Hi Tony. Thanks very much for the nice feedback. Truthfully, lining up he tripod & camera was a combination of memory & trial-and-error (as well as a little cropping on the computer). Coincidentally, yesterday morning I went to the park & took a bunch of spring shots of the tree (see attached).Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
