I shot this image at the Milwaukee Zoo with a Canon 70-200 f2.8L at 200mm wih my Canon 50D. This animal was sitting very still in a dark enclosure directly below a light shining down on him. The capture was made at f2.8 and high ISO resulting in a noisy image. I used NeatImage noise removal, darkened the background just a bit in PS with a mask layer, and applied the Fractalius filter. Because the beast's spots were the same color/darkness as the background, application of the Fractalius filter created the effect of making the beast look hollow with a framework of color - I thought the "Changling" title was well-suited to this look.
