The Diablo Dam was named from a Chinook word influenced by early Spanish explorers meaning "devil". Today, the uniquely colored waters of the lake are home to brown and rainbow trout. The surrounding glaciers grind rocks into a fine powder that stays suspended in the lake reflecting the intense turquoise color of the lake. #1362131Robert R. Goodman March 19, 2011
Hi Denny,That is a awesome capture my friend.Beautiful detail and clarity. We have some tall dams out here.As a matter of fact we have eight story dam just of south CG,that the U.S.Govt built in the wrong place. It only cost the taxpayers 28 mil dollars.Only thing that dam is holding back is the desert.Funny how the Govt don't like to talk about it!!!! #9299421Monnie Ryan March 19, 2011
Quite an interesting dam, Denny -- and just love the beautiful colors in the water! Fresh trout grilled over an open fire for breakfast doesn't sound bad, either! #9299538Tammy M. Anderson March 19, 2011
