Sea Cliffs in the Mist

Uploaded: February 21, 2011 18:07:02

Description

The morning sunbeams pierce the mist to reveal the spectacular and rugged coastline located approximately 9 miles south of Port Orford, Oregon, USA. Much of the mist is being generated by the huge waves smashing against the rocks. The mountain that dominates the center of the image is Lookout Mountain, which rises 465 feet (142 m.) above the Pacific. You can find this mountain on Goggle Earth using the coordinates 42.630089, -124.405267 (latitude/longitude).

This is spectacular, indeed! I'm king of hung up on the mental image of "sunbeams piercing the mist." Gorgeous! #1355197
