Submitted for PG101's Stacked Theme
Casa Milà, better known as La Pedrera (Catalan for 'The Quarry'), is large home designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí and built between 1905 and 1912. Gaudí believed even a building's functional elements should be aesthetically pleasing. The sculptural forms you see here are actually a ventilator shaft, a chimney stack, and a stairway enclosure. Casa Milà is located in the center of Barcelona, Spain.

What creative architectural elements for commonplace things. I like the hint of the city beyond and the structures against the fluffy-cloud sky. #9164398

Wonderful image, Nikki! Terrific composition and I love the textured stairs and the fact they split where they do in your frame! The rest is a nice gander as well. Lovely! #9164847
