Apples 4 Grls

Description

Busy original background made selecting tough on this one. I used the lasso tool to get close to the edges then the magnetic lasso. I was having control issues so I selected what I could, inverted the selection and deleted it. This meant I had to go around with the eraser and clean the edges (yuk), reselect with the magic wand when I finished and selected edge refinement and softened and feathered. No edge detail with this selection method.

I added a cloudy sky photo, posterized it, resized and arranged it behind the witches masks.

Other adjustments:
-adjustment layer to decrease blue
- copied layer x3 and erased little witch on top & bottom layers, then arranged in pattern
- desaturated red in sleeves using magic wand and levels
- dodged apples, child's face and a small area of background between apples and child's face.
- cropped
