Fly By

Description

The sun was filtered by a light haze and caused an interesting blue-gray cloud background for the mountains. I liked the subtle color and lighting contrasts so I stopped on the city dock to take a picture. A bunch of seagulls made a very timely fly by as I was shooting the 3 shots that make up this pan.

Here's a smaller version for those who run at least 1024x768 screen resolution and like to see the whole pan at once. #32960

Nice work as usual, Gary! Is it one bird in three shots or three different birds? #89986

How thoughtful, Gary. I run high res and the second photo comes up entirely in my 15" LCD screen. Another beautiful landscape. Is it warming up at all there yet? #90044

Shirley, Thy and Angela; Thank you very much! I appreciate your kind comments :-)

Murry; Thank you! These are 3 different birds but they were not flying by at the same time. They were flying by on a fairly regular basis so I simply waited on each of the 3 shots until one flew into the frame. I shot a few extra frames because my timing or the birds position was off sometimes.

Lem; I always run at 1600x1200 and have to remember that most people are set at lower resolutions and can't see all of the panoramas. And yes it has been unseasonally warm here! we've gotten as high as 65°F in the last few days which record setting temperatures for Valdez in April! The snow is melting like crazy!

Suzie; Thank you! You are too kind! But if you happen to see a crappy landscape entry that is dedicated to you, I hope you remember that you asked for it :-) #90245
