Sean's Element

Description

--------
My step grandson,
Sean, during our day together in "his" Philadelphia last Friday. He, as an artist, is strongly attracted to the visual ravages of time and decay.
-------
This overgrown alley (see comment section) in Old City has a tall, iron gate--easy work for Sean to pry open to gain entry.
--------
The letters, "O-U-R-S-E" are atop the building called "The Bourse" that overlooks Independence Mall where the historic Liberty Bell and Independence Hall are located.
-------
The Philadelphia Bourse Building, the first commodities exchange in the United States, was completed in 1895 and was one of the first steel-framed buildings to be constructed.

Celebrating over 100 years as a center for commerce and trade, The Bourse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, it is one of Philadelphia’s leading commercial complexes, home to 24 retail and food service stores and more than 50 businesses.

I know you can find some fascinating subjects in such places, for sure! Not my main focus, of course, but should I happen to be in such an environment, I'm sure I would find a no lack of interesting subjects :) I'm sure Sean is collecting a wealth of interesting images!

I also happen to like Cardinals and Peacocks... and red rocks ... :D :D

Sean has a very good eye, Michelle!

My Pop was an 'ironworker'...working on many downtown Philadelphia buildings (and bridges). He also worked in New York...going wherever the job sent him. Pop was also a 'finisher'...specializing in escalators, revolving doors etc. #8943962
