Symmetrical Fantasy
Uploaded: August 01, 2005
Original pic afternoon - June 25, 2005 - CD500 - Nescopeck State Park. I wanted to create a Greek/Roman "fantasy" type island. The Island of Circe, Mount Olympus, Calypso's Island - find in it what you will. While there's a heart and flowers in the sky above the island, Poseidon controls the seas - look at his face and a few sea monsters in this darker realm. The underworld is beneath the island. Contrast+, Anistropic diffuse, fade, color balance+, curves, plastic wrap (light)on water, brightness-. One pic, two orientations, stitched together in new photo.

Wonderful image Rachel! #1661741Rachel Rocket August 01, 2005
Donna, Tammy and Julie,Thank you for the nice comments. This one took a few hours to get right. The inspiration was the tree in the forefront (reminded me of olives) and probably the fact that I've read three Esther Friesner fantasy books in a row. It turned out better than expected (the wings in the sky - Icarus flying too close to the sun, the two side mountains - either Cyclops holding a sheep or a sleeping giant, Poseidon's nose is a trident and so on).
Best,

Love the way you have editied this one. It really gives off a great effect... Well Done Rachel #1665332Rachel Rocket August 02, 2005
Terry,This is the most work I've ever put into a manipulation of a photo, but it's one of those "Did I really create that!?!" type of manipulations for me, so it was worth the effort in my estimation. Should I want to print it though, I don't think my 8 1/2 by 11 printer will do! ~smile~
Best,
