A Better Look
Uploaded: September 07, 2010
This little clump of green growth sticking out of the rock at Canyonlands NP had a better view of the valley so I shot it.

Oh Marty you made my heart jump with this one. Love to be back there. This looks to be an early morning shot and well done indeed. #1305769Monnie Ryan September 07, 2010
Amazing -- and I'll bet it doesn't even appreciate the vantage point! Gorgeous scene! #8886603Tammy M. Anderson September 07, 2010
Great view, composition and lighting, Marty. Beautifully captured. #8886604Mitch Spence September 07, 2010
Love your choices here, Marty, with the strong diagonal and the contrasts of red rock/green shrub and detailed foreground/long-range vista. #8886673Val Feldman September 07, 2010
Ah, but I think it DOES enjoy looking at that grand vista 24/7! It's anchored in there pretty firmly like that's exactly where it intended to be all along...even appears to be leaning in for a closer look... Beautiful earth tones, gorgeous desert sky and miles and miles of heaven on earth vistas. One day.... #8887096Carol L. Fowler September 07, 2010
That vista goes on forever, doesn't it! Love the vastness of space out West, so that's where I am headed tomorrow! #8887366Kitty R. Rodehorst-Hanna September 07, 2010

Great comp, color and dof. Love the view, but like like I think it is probably easier to just visit, as I suspect that it is quite a battle for this guy to keep it. #8888136Marty Straub September 08, 2010

Awesome perspective and composition,Marty.Love the sky that brings out the earthy colors of Canyonland...It does amazes me how this trees grow in places you would think that plants and trees won't have a chance to survive.Carol L. Fowler September 21, 2010
