Description

~Animals~dedicated to Carolyn Connolly
Taken at Morisset Hospital. They have 1,300 acres of land and in 1972 the grounds were proclaimed as a Wildlife Refuge so the Kangaroos are to be found in abundance. I was suprised at how friendly and tame they were, obvious people fed them. This fellow stood six feet tall, when I hand fed him from our van window which is 8 feet from the ground I was eyeball to eyeball because he used his tail (a fifth leg) to stand up even further. Have a great day. ~Pat and Graham.

What a magnificient specemin you have captured here Pat! A wonderfu image, and I am glad he is so friendly, those feet can be nasty weapons!

No Paul, my Roo lived at Diamond Head National Park, not far from Brett, and Pats Roo calls Morisset home, it is the other side of Lake Macquarie from where I live. #8818509

Morrisett hospital sounds like it could well fit in at South West Rocks with all the Kangaroos. I'll have to go & have a look!! Great image. #8818873

Thanks all! Isn't the Roo grand!

You must take a trip down to Morisett just for the Roos Tony. Hundreds of them. They were so friendly when we stopped the van they all came over to say hello.

I did some research afterwards and read about our culling of them. Made me sick to my stomach.

If you have the time see my next photo of how proud I am to call myself and Australian NOT.

Thankyou Ellen!

I took a few photos but wasn't happy with the angle as I shot out of the van.

We are going to go back and have a picnic so I can sit down and take photos, they are such beautiful creatures.

Hope you are well.

Interesting bit of information about the Kangaroos! I've never seen one except on tv or the Internet, but neat creatures! I'm glad they have the refuge. Great capture of this one as it posed! :) #8821323
