James Dean in "Rebel Without A Cause"

Uploaded: July 17, 2010

Description

I entered this to my BP What "Else You Got" monthly theme contest.
I photographed my 1950 Mercury Sedan early morning natural light. Then I captured a photo of James Dean from a poster and layered the two images in Photoshop. Used a D700 Nikon with 70-200mm.

Exif: F Number: 5, Exposure Bias Value: 3.00, ExposureTime: 1/100 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 200, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 86.00 mm, Model: NIKON D700

Very fun photo. You did an excellent job with the light streaks/reflection on the car.

Hi Ann: You must have read my mind. Thank you for the kind comment. Merna #8769827

Hi Bonnie: I think that a lot of people still like him. I always wondered what he would have been like in this time and place. Also, Natalie Wood is hard to put in place along with James Dean.
In researching this I thought of Sal Mineo. All three of these died so tragically.
I live in central California and travel to the pacific coast line frequently, and on the way someone built a tribute to James, and it is always busy. Many people from other countries still remember, James, Natalie and Sal. Thanks again, I do get carried away. Merna

Hi Robert: Thank you for your words of encouragement. Did you happen to see the note I wrote to the club members, trying to get them to enter their theme image soon? I put my image in there as an example, not to try to win.
Carla and I are so excited about the suggestions that you gave us, what do you think is wrong?

Hello again: I made this image to use in a contest about movies. I liked it so much that I put one of my twin grandson’s (Jake) photos into it and will use it for this month’s competition for “Expressions.” Merna #8892891
