Certainly was a shame you couldn't have captured them with a better background Laura but you certainly made the most of the situation and topped it with a great title! #8717360Mary K. Robison June 26, 2010
Pom, this is a wonderful profile "pose" - it's nice to see the full fan from front, but this is uniquely lovely.Michelle Alton June 26, 2010
A double delight! I am weary of the frontside of the ostentatious male, and appreciate his rear much more. But THIS is just GREAT! #8717396Jeff Robinson June 26, 2010
Excellent capture and decription Laura! Jeff #8717441Carolyn J. Connolly June 26, 2010

Wonderful detail, colors, clarity, patterns, pose angle & comp here, Laura! A job well done, indeed! Happy Shooting! #8717535frank w. degenhardt June 26, 2010
Laura- The peacock is one of them birds that we all just love to see, especially when he has them ome of a kind feathers spread out. The eye, as I call them, on the feathers are so beautiful and the colors just gorgeous. In particular, I just love the pov you got and the way we not only see the feathers and head, but the back side of the bird as well. Gives it a special look that we dont normally see. Beuatiful work you have done here my friend.Shelly A. Van Camp June 26, 2010

Peacocks are so much fun to photograph when they are displaying their beautiful feathers but their backside is just as fascinating. You captured this peacock in a great moment and not your typical capture we normally see of them. Can you tell me the name of the bird in the background of your "Look at this" capture as I have an image of one of those but have no idea what it is. #8720177Laura E. Swan June 27, 2010
Hi Ann!!! :) Thanks lots!!!That is actually the peacock. Same one as the contest entry. :) It resembled a rooster in color. That is what I found so amazing...Pastels in the front and earth tones in the back!
I'll go get the photo of a female and post it here. Give me a minute. BRB. #8720290

Loved seeing all of these images and angles Laura. I would have been particularily excited to get a shot with the three males displaying at the same time. #8720357Laura E. Swan June 27, 2010
Oh. I WAS Irene! They actually synchronized as they fanned and slowly turned to their left in circles. I shot it in a series and have them turning together all the way around! It would be a neat slide show. When I get time I might make an album of it on facebook so people can watch it that way. :) It looks like a ballet! Thanks so much for the visit tonight! I appreciate your comments lots!

Hi Rey! :) I had so much fun shooting these guys at our wonderful Calgary Zoo. There were several of them all dancing around at once. I was there with a group of 8 people and they got tired of waiting for me but I couldn't help it! They were fabulous! This was the first time I ever saw their "private side", too, as they are usually dragging around the blue plumes. I couldn't resist the title!!! :D Thanks lots!!!*
Hi Anthony!! Thanks lots!!! :)-YOU- are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! Thnaks for the big smiles fella's.
