Robert E. Lee and Traveller watch from Seminary Ridge towards Cemetery Hill at Gettysburg.This is the Virginia Monument and only one of the many Artistic monuments and sculptures scattered throughout the Battlefield.As a History buff I enjoy shooting here. Captured at F/4.8,1/2500,Iso640,92mm.

Great shot for all the reasons mentioned. The uniform details, however, look Union. The Confederates wore offices' rank on the flat of the collar, not on shoulder boards. Confederate General Jackson, however, was known to have worn rank on shoulder boards occasionally from his military professor days. Looks more like Union commander George Meade. #8666093

Doug I would have to agree with you but George Meade was well know for wearing a private's rank when out in the field. Great shot Hal Looks like the statues are being well maintained. Most people don't know that the placement of each statue is a symbol of what happened on each day of battle. #8668202
