Henry's Haircut_2
Uploaded: April 28, 2006
This is the second image I have posted from this series. The image features my 4 yr old son, Henry, getting his hair cut. The gentleman cutting his hair (Ray) has operated his single-chair shop for 37 years at the same location. It is the kind of place that you can get your hair cut and/or get caught up on the news of the day. I happen to know that for some these are distinctly different reasons for making a trip to Ray's shop. Ray has a couple of old photos hanging on the wall of his shop that were taken 40 yrs ago of himself cutting the hair of a young boy. I have always admired these old photos on trips there with my sons. My goal with this series of candid shots was to make them look like one of those 40-yr old photos on the wall in Ray's shop. I presented Ray with a framed print of this image which now humbly hangs next to the old ones.
F/4.5, 1/60 s, ISO-100, Canon EFS 18-55mm lens. Dec 2005 (Henry's holiday haircut).
