Abundant Light

Washington National Cathedral reopened to the public 11/13, 80 days after the M5.8 VA earthquake. The worst of the tons of damaged
masonry has been safely stabilized, and heavy dismantling is underway. Thus, 11/19 was the first Saturday of touring, and the celebratory
mood was boosted by strong sunlight in crystal-clear air. That called for a visit to the south arcade aisle featuring Wilson's tomb.
It is my annual tradition to shoot the morning light of late fall/early winter in this aisle; no other time produces quite this light show!
All the pools of color are sunlight through stained glass; no colors added in editing. Each year, I've tried to improve on the prior year's image;
I think this is the best result I've produced in all 5 years; the wide-angle lens finally let me capture some of the far nave wall and colors behind the tomb.
3 RAW wide-bracketed exposures, adjusted to 6 files for HDR, at 10mm.
Exif: F Number: 10, ISO: 200, FocalLength: 10.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 7D
