From the Mountains to the Sea [Contest Finalists September 2010]
Uploaded: September 15, 2010 00:34:02
In 1818 Explorer John Oxley left fom Sydney and made his way inland to the New England Tablelands and then down through Mount Seaview to the coast at Port Macquarie.Along the way he encountered small groups of indigenous people, some who had earlier encounters, and others that were terrified by the sight of white men. This landscape near Ellenborough was very close to the path Oxley took and and the surrounding landscapes still reflect those earlier days.
