It's been a rough winter for owls in NH, as I suspect the same in all northern cold states. The ice and hard snow pack have made it extremely difficult to catch rodents. This little beauty stayed around my bird feeders for three days. Here she's still for a moment after a failed attempt at a mouse.
I had to blow out the snow to expose for the owl, so I added a touch of a Daily Texture gold overlay, just to give a little depth and contrast and tone down all the white.
