Flickers, as they peck around on the ground, can look SO drab. But up close, even with their wings closed, are gorgeous. But capture a shot of a Flicker in flight, and it's like their wings are made of shining gold! But capture a shot of a Flicker defending its nest and you have a brilliant award-winning photograph!
