A mother Pink-backed pelican feeds her baby. The chick feeds by violently plunging it's head deep into the adult's throat pouch and taking the partially digested regurgitated fish.

The pelicans we have here Downunder must raise their chicks in a secluded area somewhere, because we never get to see them until they are fully feathered and independent!! :o) #8514422
