Petrified Wave

Pemaquid Point, ME
Wave action and erosion have sculpted this coastal rock into what looks like a frozen wave.
The layers and varied colors really caught my eye.

lovely, Dee....at first I thought it was an ancient tree stump...the rock has such beautiful texture and color! I'm starting a Lapidary Course in my community today...since I just love rocks and have amassed many on my travels.....It will be a four day adventure with two finished items....then we'll see if I go on from there.....Here's to all the beautiful rocks! Cheers..... #1500574Dee Langevin November 27, 2012
Thank you Patricia! The grand landscapes at Pemaquid Point were so gorgeous that it was hard to focus on the smaller details. I love the varied textures and colors in rocks too. I'll be anxious to hear how you do with your lapidary adventure. Have fun! #10435334Neal D. Hatcher November 27, 2012
