Thanks you very much, Val, and Debby! I am greatly flattered by your words! I'm so glad you like this image of Shiprock Peak! I so admire both of your galleries' images and have for a long time! And, yes Val, this peak does tower over the high flatlands and can be seen for over fifty miles away (maybe even more like eighty miles away)! There is an almost palpable mystical quality to the area. It is a sacred place to the Native Americans on whose reservation the peak exists. Something different emanates from the area... some kind of vibe. I can't really explain... #9514771Eivor Kuchta July 10, 2011
I thought you had taken this during fire season, but I see it's from winter. Wonderful image, Thomas! I like the mystic feeling and the colors. #9520267Thomas E. Hinds July 10, 2011

Thank you, Nikki, Eivor, and Patti, for all the nice words! #9635180Tad Bowman August 26, 2011
Nice image Thomas. I love this rock/peak. I hope I can make it there to see it sometime. #9635754Thomas E. Hinds August 27, 2011
Thanks very much, Tad! You will love the look of it should you get there. You probably know where it is, not far from the four corners, south of Shiprock a few miles. Knowing your work, you'll capture a spectacular image of it. Morning is better overall, though looking from the west is really different as well. Thanks again! #9636672
