You know, those days and places with no electricity or fridge sure have a certain charm to them but I am never thrilled about the no running water thing! Carrying buckets back and forth from a river you have to trust, (breaking your back several times daily), and then having to use an outhouse all four seasons! Rain, mild, heat and snow...and darkness and night time animals, day time bugs..GOOD HEAVENS! NO! Lol...HeeHee....
If life is kind and you EVER make it up here to Calgary I hope I can go with you to Heritage Park. It's an unforgettable experience. No only is it filled with very old authentic homes that were moved there from all over the Province but they are beautiful and kept in very good shape and many are haunted! YES! HAUNTED! BOO! If your hair doesn't raise then you will for sure just have a real treat. Kiki and Leif were there with Dale and I and it was so wonderful. A real running Steam Train takes you to different areas of the park if you don't feel like walking the distance. Also a movie was made there that people have said was their favorite in the world called "Time after Time"...About a magic train that took an unhappy man from modern times back into time. A time that made him happy and that he should have lived in. I think it was Keven Costner starring? Beautiful movie but made for TV and very hard to find!!! Shanghai Noon was made there too. (Jackie Chan) and other films.
Thanks for visiting one of my Heritage Park "FAV'S" and your great comments.
-Pommy!
P.S. I forgot and re-arranged my gallery last night. I'll send you the link for the other one!!! VERY sorry about that!!! #10880045
