Tranquil Seclusion

We pulled into the secluded Maconaquah Trailhead parking lot and noticed there were new maps in the container. When I saw the cover photo I said, "Hey, that's mine," and my friend Dave said, "Yeah, it says all photographs are by you." Well, that added a bit of spring in the step as we hiked. They called me last June when we were in Moab, Utah, to get permission, and I know thev've used my photos in calendars and a traveling show they were doing, but this was the first time I saw one used.

Well, well; now I can say I personally know a professional almost. Great shooting Marty. I can see why they picked this one. BEAUTFUL. #9397972Marty Straub May 10, 2011
Oh, sorry, Ron. I should clarify. This was a photo from the day we discovered the new maps. The one they used was from '07 I think. I'll find it and post it here. Thanks so much for your comment. #9397989

Wow! I'm impressed, but hardly surprised that your considerable talents are getting recognition! Both versions are beautiful, of course, but the B&W is just drop-dead gorgeous! #9398134Julianne Bradford May 10, 2011
I can certainly see why they picked this beautifully framed capture Marty! I'm so pleased you are getting the recognition you deserve. All your landscapes are worthy of publication :-) Who-o-o who-o good for you!!! #9398247frank w. degenhardt May 10, 2011
You do such beautiful work my friend, that while it was a thrill to have your works used and published, your gallery proves that it should not really be a surprise. This is an absolute winner, the black and white version adds so much character to see. Congratulations on your talent being reconized and may you have ocntinued success my friend. Have a great day and take care. #9398631
