~•~♥~♥~♥~•~Shelly, I notice that the swirl patterns come after the incense stick burns for a little while. Ventillation and airflow also affects the smoke activity. One day when I was alone in the house shooting smoke, I found the smoke to be "boring" and without any interesting patterns. My son came home with some friends and the change in airflow in the house (doors opening and closing, kids walking around) caused the smoke to twirl and come alive.
I've read that music can affect the smoke pattern also; I tried it but must not have had the music loud enough to make a real noticeable difference.
You all have to try this... It's a lot of fun, and you can be unbridled in the post processing, too.
